Used Car Auctions Can Save You Money

Used car auctions are great ways to purchase cars at deep discount.  Not only can great deals on used cars be found there, but also some incredible higher model cars too..  A lot of people buy these cars either to drive themselves or to mark up for future sale.  A little information can make an auction an even better experience.

One possible problem is that the purchase might not be a good one.  The car won at auction might turn out to be a lemon.  Cars sold at such auctions are generally sold according to used car laws which tend to make it an as is sale.  Remember the old Sesame Street skit in which a man looks over a car with “as is” in the window  He makes a cursory look at the car, but every question is met with “the car is as is” from the salesman.  Once the sale is made and the man tries to enter the car, it shakes itself apart.  ”I want the car as was!” screams the angry driver.  Don’t let that happen to you.

Car auctions generally give potential buyers time to look over the cars.  Avoid the auctions that don’t.  Arrive early.  Test drive the cars you like.  Bring a mechanic to provide an expert eye.  If that isn’t possible, at least drive the car for an inspection during the test drive.  It doesn’t take long to check key components like the engine and breaks.  Anyone with a decent eye can check the body, interior and other physical elements for wear and tear .

The very nature of auctions leads to another common issue.  Auction prices can be terrific, but sometimes people assume a bargain where there is none.  Like other types of auctions, auto auctions can be the same way.  The bidding can easily escalate to well over the car’s value.  There are also fees to pay, so pay close attention.  Know the prices of similar models in similar conditions from Kelly Blue Book or other sales data.  Phones with Internet access can bring this info to your fingertips while attending.  Don’t pay more than the car is worth, even if it’s a coveted antique.

Consider Budget Auto Rental

Budget Auto Rental Video

Many people rent cars for vacations, business trips, temporary replacement for a car in the shop, or even for use a few days a week when public transportation is otherwise used.  Choosing a car rental company isn’t easy.  Budget is one of the most well known.  So many people consider a Budget auto rental.  The name also helps create the connection between renting from that company and the lowest price.  Although it’s not a fact, it helps sell the business.

Budget rents more than just passenger vehicles.  When people need to carry a big load, they also turn to Budget for a truck.  Comfort and style are key to Budget trucks.  In fact luxuries like automatic transmission, air conditioning, power brakes and power steering helped set them apart from other truck rentals.  Compare those features to a traditional trucks with a stiff manual transmission, a loud bumpy ride, and brakes and steering that practically take a superhero to manage.  There’s a big difference between vans and Budget trucks.  The interior has no bulge for a wheel well.  That means more cargo and ability to shift it around.  Budget even sells the trucks when their time in the rental fleet is complete.  So Budget trucks have yet another benefit.  They’re generally newer trucks in excellent working condition.  A break down when a truck is needed isn’t fun.

It’s not convenient to own a car in cities like New York.  Excellent bus lines along with high costs of fuel and tolls leads to this decision.  But even these people sometimes need a car.  When the load is too much to carry on a bus, that’s one time.  Or it might be that they want a relaxing car ride.  This calls for a rental car  Budget has cars that rent for about $160 a week, a real bargain.  Even the cost of a rental car every weekend of the year, about $70 each weekend from Budget, would be cheaper than the cost of owning a car.  When a car isn’t necessary every day, people rent them on the days they need them.

The Important Facts About Building Solar Powered Cars

Builders who understand the facts about solar powered cars will have an easier time comprehending their benefits and the challenges of producing them.  Solar cars are incredibly beneficial because they do not use standard fuel, but instead run on renewable solar energy.  They do not put out the same kind of air pollution as a combustion engine, so they aid the environment.  They also may have a financial benefit for consumers, as increased gas prices have made conventional cars far more expensive to drive.

How Solar Cars Work

Knowing the facts about solar powered cars is key for consumers who are considering a purchase. The energy conversion begins as the light energy from the sunshine is transformed into a more concentrated form of energy.  Solar cells resemble a sandwich in their construction — they have two layers of silicone that are separated with a thin, insulating material.  The sunlight creates an electrical charge within the cell.  One side contains the positive charge while the other side is negative.

A lone photovoltaic cell can produce only a small amount of electricity, so there will need to be multiple cells to power a vehicle.  Multi-celled solar panels contain many small cells in one place, increasing the amount of energy potential.

Starting to Build a Solar Car

There are several facts about solar powered cars that you need to know before undertaking your own project to build a solar vehicle.Though you may be able to fuel a big vehicle, it might be easier to begin with a smaller one.  Not only will it have less energy needs, but creating the solar car on a small scale might help you create the larger version later.  First you will need to decide what materials you are going to choose to build the body out of.  Then you will have to learn to mount the wheels and the motor onto this body.

Once you have constructed the basic vehicle, you can begin to prepare the solar system.  You must check that all the connections are sound and strengthened.  Then, you will determine how the panels should best be mounted. It can be helpful to research the basic design and structure of different solar cars when you are undertaking this step, to ensure that you have done everything you need to do.

Testing Solar Cars

Keeping the basic facts about solar powered cars in mind during the testing phase will help you ensure that your vehicle is safe and functions at its best.  Begin by testing the vehicle in bright sunlight, to see if all the connections are completed properly.  The car will need plenty of adjustments at first, although they might be simple connection problems. As you move from a small or model vehicle to a full-size car, the connections will be more complicated so read as much as you can now.

There are commercial solar cars that you can purchase if you do not want to build your own.  However, creating a solar car on your own is an interesting way to learn the mechanics of solar energy.
