BMW remains to grow in China

The German car brands still keep to grow, though the automotive world in general is in recess. But not only in it’s home country BMW is doing well. In the first quarter of 2009, BMW Group continued to register growth in the Chinese Mainland market with a total of 16,580 BMW and MINI cars delivered  to the customers, representing 13.growth of 8% over the same period of last year (prev.yr.: 14,574 units).  Automotive expectations in the east are good, and Chinese people still are buying cars. But just ten percent of the Chinese public is driving or owning a car. One could predict the environmental issues if all Chinese own one or two cars. Luckily the Chinese government is trying to get people to buy only clean cars and reward it with half the taxes as would be payed normally.

Sales of the BMW brand automobiles in the Chinese Mainland increased by 14.4% to 15,850 units, which includes 8,402 units BMW 3 Series and 5 Series cars produced locally in China. Sales of MINI cars rose by 1% in the Chinese Mainland to 730 units in the first quarter of 2009 (prev.yr.: 723 units).

In the whole Region China markets combining Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau, the BMW Group delivered a total of 18,244 BMW and MINI brand automobiles in the first quarter, a year-on-year increase of 5.4% (prev.yr.:

17,317).

“Considering the current global difficult times, the Chinese auto market continues to be very resilient and recently showed signs of recovering the growth path. We achieved an enormous growth again for BMW and MINI vehicles sales for the first quarter, and good growth of 20.Four percent in the third month. Our new generation 7 Series will be one of the strong contributors to our sales success throughout the year in China” said Dr. Christoph Stark, President and CEO of BMW Group Region China.

How To Exchange Your Old Car for a New Car

Have you ever had that bad luck, the bad luck you get when you go to buy a car and then a week after purchasing it it breaks down on you, it doesn’t matter how much you pay for it it always seems to happen. Well I am as we speak in this situation myself, I bought a car and I have spent thousands trying to repair it.

Well the government are now going to look at offering folk £2000 to vehicles that are older than 9 years old off of the roads. There are a lot of countries which have tested this scheme and which has turned out at working great. There are lots of ways that this can help you let us have a look.

Most importantly the environment will be getting saved by removing polluting cars from the roads and ultimatley bringing in new and fresh ones. We do all know that the older a car gets the more pollution occurs. The second benefit we will see is that it will definitely help the new car economy which at the moment is struggling. By giving people £2000 they will be able to put that towards buying themselves a new vehicle, which will boost the economy a tremendous amount.

And lastly it would help normal people who get ripped off by cars, to actually take the effort to buy them selves a brand new one. I can see a numerous amount of people that will try and benefit from this but hopefully the government will stop it.

How Long Will Youe New Car Last

The reason for asking this question is because of the recent declaration by the government that they will be giving £2000 to owners of vehicles that are more than nine years old. The reason they are doing this is to avoid pollution caused by older engines. Old vehicles cause a lot more pollution simply because of the fact that did not have the technology in the past, so that really leads me to the question of whether or not new cars are going to be made to last anymore?

The reason for saying this is because we all know that old cars last much longer then ones that are built in this day and age. So now that the government have announced their intentions can car manufacturers stop making cars that last? For one of two reasons really which are stated below.

First off they now only really need to make cars to last a decade as the government have made their decision to scrap any vehicle that is older then nine years old so make sure they create vehicles that will go for a decade without breaking down.

The second reason is really for the environment, is it really safe to drive a vehicle that is ten years old, we have all seen how fast technology is developing and in around ten years time from now we will probably have near enough to 0% of emitting pollution from cars. So staying upto date with the innovations in technology is essential.

The major downside that I can see from this is that most mechanics will lose out on business. With vehicles having a shorter lifespan so will a mechanics work.
